Selecting a piece of granite to use for your next home renovation can be a daunting task. It’s often hard to imagine what a slab of solid rock in a slab yard will look like as a countertop in your kitchen, or whether it will be that perfect color for your custom built shower. Picking the wrong slab can be a costly mistake, but we’re here to tell you that it can be easier than you think! Our expert showroom staff are trained to listen to your needs and lend their years of expertise to your selection, but they can help you better if you come prepared.
Here are some helpful tips to help make sure that you pick out a granite that you are going to love for years to come. Picking the right granite for your project is like picking a good tie. Ideally, the pattern and colors of the granite should complement and bring together the colors of the room. To that end, bring samples or pictures of your planned paint color, cabinetry finish, flooring, and any other materials present in the room you are going to renovate. Also, consider the lighting you will be seeing the granite under, if your room has a lot of natural light then what you see is what you get in the slab yard, but if it doesn’t then you need to consider that different granites may look different when viewed under artificial light. Ask our salesmen about the difference! Finally, make sure you pick out the actual slab that will be used in your project.
Picking samples is one thing, but here at Delta granite we know that there are often large variations in pattern and color between each individual slab.
