After choosing the slab for your countertop, it’s time to choose the kind of edge you want for it. Stone edges are a design element that you choose prior to fabrication. The edge that you choose can have a dramatic impact on the look and feel of your kitchen and countertops. There are many choices to choose from. Depending on the shape, it will affect cost, function, and cleanliness. Choosing a premium or custom edge requires professional installation that only experienced installers can handle correctly. Our team includes installers with years of experience installing high-end countertops.
Corner detail refers to the degree of “roundness” the countertop corners will have. A 90-degree corner is generally used for countertop edges that abut to a wall or backsplash. This is also the case for the countertop edge, which will be next to the range or refrigerator. For edges that are exposed to traffic we recommend that the corner be rounded a bit. The most common corner details is as eased corner that features a 1/6″ radius, just enough to take away the sharp edge, but leave a clean line. On slabs without waterfall edges the standard corner detail is 1/2″.
